Assemblyman Cooley: Let Counties Identify Local Needs and Invest In Mental Health Services

(Sacramento) - Assemblyman Ken Cooley (D-Rancho Cordova) spoke in support of Assembly Bill 2843, which enables local governments to use funds from the Mental Health Services Act to develop services based on the specific needs of their communities. “This is a bill that will empower people in California in all 58 counties to identify local needs and bring them forward,” Assemblyman Cooley said. “This is not as much a bill about releasing dollars, as a bill about releasing energy on problems in communities up and down our state.” To learn more about mental health services, watch this Assembly Access video.
