Assemblyman Ken Cooley, whose 8th district includes Rancho Murieta, will be the Kiwanis Club's guest speaker at its meeting 7 p.m. Thursday at the Villas clubhouse, on Murieta Parkway. Everyone is welcome. Prior to being elected to the Assembly in 2012, Cooley was mayor and served on Rancho Cordova's city council.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — The Joint Committee on Rules today approved a landmark overhaul of the Legislature’s policies on sexual harassment with an aim of transforming the workplace culture in California. The comprehensive policy revision attempts to promote a workplace culture of respect, civility and diversity, using a range of tools.

“This Joint Senate and Assembly hearing to update our policies and processes on sexual harassment and other misconduct is notable in the history of California as incontestably a historic, bicameral and bipartisan undertaking to support the work of the People’s House in a way that upholds the values we hold dear,” said Assemblymember Ken Cooley (D-Rancho Cordova), Chair of the Joint Committee on Rules.

SACRAMENTO – On Wednesday, June 6, Assemblyman Ken Cooley (D-Rancho Cordova) honored the Earl J. Koobs Nature Area as the 8th Assembly District’s 2018 Nonprofit of the Year.

Each year, the California Legislature hosts the California Nonprofits Day Celebration to recognize nonprofit organizations that make significant contributions to their communities.
