New Law Honors Vietnam Veterans

The legislature recently passed, and the governor signed, a new law designating AB 717 as "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans" day every March 30, and encouraging schools to conduct exercises to recognize the contributions of those involved in the Vietnam conflict.

California Department of Veterans Affairs - Provides information on state and federal government benefits for veterans, including available home loans, job opportunities, veteran homes, college grants and newsletters on women and minority veterans.

CA Veterans Resource Book

Troops to College – Provides information from California county veteran affairs offices for veterans and active-duty military personnel seeking to achieve educational and general life goals. The website shows the campuses served in Los Angeles and other counties.

Network of Care for Veterans and Service Member – Provides information on community services and networks that offer support to returning veterans. This portal was developed as a joint venture of the state, counties and the nonprofit Trilogy Integrated Resources.
